What is 25Live, and how does it work?
25Live provides a centralized scheduling system for university scheduled lecture halls, class labs, technology rooms, and other learning spaces. Currently we are also piloting the software in non-university scheduled spaces in Molecular Plant Sciences, Food Safety Toxicology, and the SECCHIA Center in Grand Rapids. When a user requests one of these spaces, the scheduling unit will review and process the request.
I cannot find the room that I am looking for in 25Live
Currently lecture halls, class labs, computer labs, technology rooms, other learning spaces, and spaces at SECCHIA Center in Grand Rapids are available to view/request in 25Live.
Why can’t I request resources for classroom spaces?
Michigan State University uses a decentralized system, and the only unit currently providing resource information in 25Live is SECCHIA Center in Grand Rapids.
How do I request visitor access/or printing in the computer labs?

After I submit my request, how long will it take to receive my event confirmation?
Typically requests are processed within 2 business days. You will receive an email after the request is processed.
Why doesn’t my event show up on the calendar when I make my request?
Only confirmed or approved events will display in the 25Live calendar. When an event is submitted, it is initially a draft. Once the schedulers approve the event it will show on the calendar and you will receive an email confirmation.
Can I save certain selections in the system?
In the upper left corner of the Dashboard, there is an area called “STARRED.” This is similar to identifying a favorite and/or regularly used room or building. Various screens give you the opportunity to STAR those selections and they will appear on your Dashboard.
Will the 25live system time out?
The 25Live system will not time out. Once you log into the system it will be available until you close your browser.
What are the recommended browsers?
Firefox or Google Chrome are the preferred browsers. Internet Explorer (9 or higher) can be used but the Compatibility View must be turned on or the user will be unable to log in. For the MAC, Safari and Firebox are both supported.
How are the Technology Tiers defined in 25Live?
AV – Tech Tier 1: A room that that has a technology podium (no computer, has instructor laptop connection VGA or HDMI) or technology cart (includes computer), permanently installed LCD projector or flat panel display, DVD/VCR combo, and microphone.
AV – Tech Tier 2: A room that has an instructor cart (includes computer), touch screen control panel, DVD/Blu-ray, microphone, digital document scanner, 2-3 displays (either flat panel displays or LCD projectors), and speaker system. This tier includes the Learner-Centric classrooms.
Learner-Centric Interactive Technology Classrooms:
Learner-centric classrooms are designed to support a variety of active learning pedagogies that engage students in peer discussion, group work, or other hands-on activities. There is no set front of the classroom as compared to traditional classrooms. These classrooms have tables with power and video connections, office-style chairs, multiple projectors and screens, white boards, wireless networking, and a technology cart with a Crestron control panel that can control what images appear on the screens. Learner-centric rooms are: N124 BCC, 175 BDY, 313, 316 EBH, 222 EH, C131 HLD, 50 UB, B100, B104, B106 WH.
AV – Tech Tier 3: REAL (Room for Engaged and Active Learning): A REAL classroom is designed to enable lively interaction, enhanced learning, and increased faculty and student engagement. The REAL room has an instructor cart (includes computer), touch screen control panel, DVD/Blu-ray, microphone, digital document scanner, multiple displays (either flat panel display or projector), HD speaker system, wireless networking, pods of tables with power and video connections, multiple displays for student interaction and white boards. The instructor has the ability to see or display to the room the work of any specific student group and can present from the technology cart or move freely about the room to consult with student teams. REAL rooms are: 323 CEM, 310, 315 EBH, 2, 38 MCD, 55 UB.
To teach in a REAL classroom, instructors must complete the REAL Academy. The REAL Academy will train instructors on how to implement active learning strategies into their classes. Visit: http://tech.msu.edu/classroom-technology
Computer Lab: Computer labs may not have all the equipment that Tech Tier 1 classrooms have. For information about specific computer labs, visit: http://tech.msu.edu/computerlabs/
Mac: These classrooms have a Macintosh computer on the technology cart. The cart will also support an instructor-provided laptop (either PC or Mac). A VGA monitor cable for the projector is supplied for connecting a laptop, but the user must provide his/her own Ethernet cable, laptop power supply, sound cables, and Mac VGA adaptor if using their own laptop.
